Safe Heaven

“Safe Heaven” is a quilt that illustrates the deep connection between protection, closeness, and trust. The abstract depiction of a mother and child is created through curved shapes and harmoniously coordinated shades of rosé, pink, and berry tones, which come together to form a calm, balanced composition.

The initial design was created with the help of artificial intelligence. The textile version was created entirely using the freezer paper method and free-motion quilting on a sewing machine. The quilting lines follow the shapes of the motif, enhancing its gentle movement and expressiveness.

I also teach this quilt in a class. In the class, I demonstrate how I use artificial intelligence for the initial design and how to bring it to life using freezer paper.
